Photos From My Phone | 27th May - 2nd June

Monday 27th May

I spent the morning writing my essay, yet again, but didn't do much in the afternoon. I ended up baking a rhubarb crumble, I think I was swayed by how great the pistachio-rhubarb tart was that I had had the day before. I feel like crumble is so underrated, the finish product was so good!

Tuesday 28th May

I was so productive on Tuesday. I ended up cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, which was long overdue and picked up my ASOS parcel which was left, once again, 3 miles away from my apartment. As I said in last week's post, I'm slowly turning into an old woman, which I proved once again by baking brownies.

In the evening, I went to watch the new Aladdin movie, which was pretty good, and so pretty to watch. Will Smith was great as the genie too, which I'm happy about. Although I'm never a fan of the new songs added into the remakes, I understand why they gave Jasmine a solo, and no doubt Naomi Scott can sing, but I just don't like the song (it was the same for the new songs in Beauty and the Beast too).

Wednesday 29th May

We headed to Distortion of Wednesday, a festival running for 4 days in different parts of Copenhagen. We headed to the Lakes in the early afternoon before the festival started to enjoy the sun for a few hours. It was insane how busy Nørrebro was, I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place in Copenhagen before. We ended up being in the middle of a few-too-many most pits, which was a nightmare but the street party was still fun. It was such a strange experience, we ended up having a sit down meal at Cock's and Cows after an hour or so in the middle of the drunken crowd, which is a first for me at a festival. The burgers took forever to be made, but was delicious so was worth the wait. We ended up staying until around 9:30 which was a pretty early time to head home, but we were both pretty tired and didn't fancy a hangover the day after.

Thursday 30th May

Surprise, surprise, there was another bank holiday in Denmark that I didn't know about. Once again, everything was closed in Copenhagen so I ended up heading to Paludan Bog & Cafe to write some of my essay, in the morning. I didn't do much to celebrate the bank holiday, but spent the evening laid in bed, which was still pretty nice since I had been so busy recently.

Friday 31st May

Again, I spent the morning writing my essay, but I finally finished my final essay which is great! I'm so proud of myself, as it means that I have absolutely no work to do in my final few weeks. I spent the afternoon walking around the city centre and enjoying the summer heat. We ended up heading to Milk by Munchies to try their ice-cream donut sandwiches, which were sooooo good. It's definitely a spot I'll take Teri to when she visits this week!

I spent the evening looking into booking a trip to Århus for Teri and me as we both thought it would be a good idea to see a bit more of Denmark during her second trip here.

Saturday 1st June

I can't believe it's June already! We decided to cycle to Dragør, a small fishing village just south of Copenhagen. It was the cutest town I think I've ever been to and is definitely worth a visit if you have a day to spare in Copenhagen. I think I will write a full post for the day because I took so many pictures so won't write too much here. We ate lots of great food, there were plenty of cosy cafes to choose from considering the size of the town. Laura Ella Bakery was so cosy; there were way too many baked goods to choose from so we ended up getting three cakes and sharing them all.

The cycle there and back was a killer. I hate cycling, so much that I would rather walk for an hour than ride a bike for 10 minutes...but it was the same distance there as it is to the city centre, so I'm just being a bit dramatic when I complain.

Sunday 2nd June

Sunday was a really slow day, I spent most of the morning/early afternoon soaking up the sun on my balcony, writing blog posts and editing some pictures. I also managed to finish the audiobook I was listening to, Cheerleaders was pretty good, and not too cringe for a YA book.
