Welcome to Copenhagen

Thank you for coming back to read my second post! I can't believe that I am in Copenhagen already, since applying last Autumn waiting to set off seemed to be taking forever until the past few weeks. The final couple of days at home were jam packed: our family holiday only ended a few days before moving, I had a leaving/early birthday meal with my family, I spent a ton of money printing out forms and I had to do all of my packing.

My sister and grandad flew out with me so that it would be easier to settle in and I am so glad that they did because they made the first couple of days stress-free and easy going. The flight to Copenhagen was quick and we didn't spend too long in the airport (probably because the walk from the gate to the luggage belt seemed to take forever) and transport to my new flat was simple. When we arrived at Signalhuset we had a small tour of the accommodation and the recycling system was clearly explained. Luckily I will be living opposite a huge shopping centre so it was easy to buy my bedding and a few trinkets to make my room feel a lot homier.

I am so pleased with my accommodation, considering that last year I had such a tiny bedroom (and a hole in the wall when I first moved in) I love the style of the room. Also, the views are insane, and so much better than looking out at Hyde Park. The balcony is also great, even if the potential lack of privacy worried me at first, and I love pulling my chair onto it in the morning and having a cup of tea whilst the weather is still warm.

We even managed to get most of the things sorted out in the first day so that the second day could be spent exploring the city (and walking around in circles about 50 times...) We visited Nyhavn, like any good tourist would do in the city and Christiansborg Palace which was stunning and got a chance to try some Danish pastries when we visited Sankt. Peders Bageri (aka pastry heaven). With how good the food is that we have tried so far I am expecting to return to the UK 10 stone heavier.

I am settling in and had a great day exploring the city centre, hopefully I can explore the city further once I've got a bike - I did buy a bike but had to resell it since I was too short to use it...

Nothing else much has happened, I still need to get my CPR number and do a lot of the boring stuff but hopefully that can be done in the next week or so and I'm praying to all of the Gods that I get a bike soon because public transport costs build up quickly (along with the costs of everything else in this city. I'm excited about the next few weeks, and I really hope that you stick around to read all about it.
